About AI Voyager
Exploring the world of AI, one week at a time.
Who’s Behind AI Voyager?
Hi, I’m André Barnard—a curious explorer on a personal mission to delve into the vast and fascinating world of artificial intelligence. With a background in software development since 2004, I started my journey with HTML, VB Script, and ASP classic. Today, I am a software engineer primarily working with C# and Microsoft technologies. While I’m not an AI expert (yet), I firmly believe that with curiosity, persistence, and a bit of courage, anyone can understand and create with AI.
I created AI Voyager to document my journey in real time: the victories, the mistakes, the “aha” moments, and the countless questions along the way.
Why AI Voyager?
Artificial intelligence is reshaping the world faster than almost any technology before it. But for beginners, it can often feel overwhelming, confusing, or out of reach.
AI Voyager exists to change that. My goal is to show that learning AI is possible—even without a PhD or decades of coding experience. If I can do it, so can you.

A Fun Fact
My interest in AI was born after a meeting with our security specialist, where we had to document non-functional requirements. He used ChatGPT to assist with generating answers to security questions, and I was amazed that you could just ask a question and receive relevant text. My first thought was, "What? How is this possible?" A week later, he gave a presentation on AI, ChatGPT, and Copilot in Edge, which provided me with my first overview of AI and piqued my interest.
My interest in AI was born after a meeAlmost a year later, while on a morning exercise after attending the Microsoft AI Tour in Utrecht, Netherlands, the idea for AI Voyager was born.
Now, this blog is the ship. The journey is just beginning.
Thanks for being part of it.
